Manifesto

Butterfly Dream is a small AI company. We build products and we do research, and we believe — for now, at our size — those are the same activity. This document is what we agree on, before we disagree about anything else.

Build, then study

We learn what AI is by shipping it. Theory not pressure-tested by deployment is theory about a system that does not exist.

Doubt is a feature

A system that cannot say "I do not know" knows nothing at all. Calibration and refusal are design problems, not afterthoughts.

Bilingual by default

Everything we make works in Chinese and English from day one. The two languages are different ways of looking at the same problem.
